Overview

Michelob Ultra Mountain House, nestled within the iconic Ball Arena in Denver, offers a distinct American dining experience that blends hearty flavors with a warm, lodge-style atmosphere. This spot caters especially well to sports fans and visitors looking to enjoy a meal before the game, with its prime location at 1000 Chopper Cir making it an accessible and inviting choice.

The menu strikes a balance between classic comfort dishes and elevated protein-centric options. Highlights include the braised short rib mac and the smoky, tender BBQ brisket—both embodying the robust, rustic character that defines American fare but with a refined touch. For those seeking lighter fare, the quinoa and rice bowl or the Old Bay shrimp salad roll provide fresh, thoughtfully composed alternatives that still satisfy a hearty appetite.

The shareables truly shine when it comes to communal dining. Items like the Mountain House nachos and Asian-style pork ribs encourage sharing and offer a flavorful start to any gathering. The culinary craftsmanship is evident, attributable to Chef Joe's influence, lending authenticity and depth to each plate.

Service at Michelob Ultra Mountain House tends to be a mixed bag but leans positive. Several patrons highlight attentive and friendly staff, with shout-outs to individual servers and managers who enhance the overall experience. However, occasional lapses in attentiveness have been noted, suggesting some inconsistency typical of high-traffic sport venues.

Spatially, the venue embraces a rustic, lodge-inspired design that lends a cozy, communal vibe without sacrificing elegance. The fireplace seating area provides a quieter retreat from the lively crowd, ideal for relaxing moments between game periods. Peak hours near major sporting events can lead to crowded conditions, which some might find overwhelming, though timing visits strategically can afford a more tranquil atmosphere.

While drink prices and the strength of mixed drinks have been points of critique, the beer selection remains a strong suit, complementing the bold flavors of the cuisine. Overall, Michelob Ultra Mountain House excels at delivering a well-rounded pre-game dining experience with a taste of Americana, designed for both casual fans and food enthusiasts looking to fuel up before the action.

We had some food and drinks at Ball Arena before the game. The food was good, prices were average and the menu was sufficient. Sevina was very helpful, friendly and kind. Thanks to her for the great service.

This was a GREAT place to enjoy dinner before an Avalanche game. We had no reservations so we waited 20-30 minutes to be seated. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with world class lodge elements everywhere you look. Once we were seated, the service was 6-out-of-10. I walked out glasses to another section to get our sodas refilled. We asked for more ranch for our fries and the staff gave us the most confused stare...we never got the ranch. But the food was good and ai would definitely return.

Chef Joe makes the best food, the servers and bartenders are absolutely amazing, and George is a fantastic manager. Wonderful place to go before a game! The nachos are my favorite.

Very comfortable as long as there isn’t a crowd. Pro tip: come here 5 minutes before each period ends for hockey / basketball and you’ll have the place to yourself. Upstairs was closed but my boy friend and I enjoyed hanging by the fireplace. Drinks are massively overpriced unfortunately and the mixer drinks weren’t very strong. It can be smashed packed with rowdy sports fans during peak hours.

We went before April 11th Nuggets game. Our waitress was fantastic. Unfortunately, I don’t remember her name. She brought me a complimentary cookies and ice cream. We’re headed back tonight before Nuggets playoff game.
